    Electronic Publishing related to Australia

    The National Library of Australia is taking the lead in electronic publishing. See the article National Strategy for Provision of Access to Australian Electronic Publications: A National Library of Australia Position Paper.

    The Australian Vice-Chancellors' Committee is sponsoring a Symposium on Australian Electronic Publishing to be held in Sydney on 30 May 96. A significant web page is available which gives some related links from that Symposium.

    Guide to e-journals

    The NLA is currently gathering a listing of Australian e-journals. At present this comprehensive listing of Australian published or Australian oriented material includes over 1000 separate journals with a presence on the web. Also see Margaret Henty's article "Electronic Journals and the National Library of Australia" for an update on what the NLA is doing and planning in the field. This paper was presented at the Australian Library and Information Association seminar in Sydney on 31 August 95.


    e-lists

    Of special interst is the H-ANZAU Discussion List dealing with the history of Australia and New Zealand. It is run from Michigan State University and edited at James Cook and Melbourne University in Australia and is supported by the Australian Vice-Chancellors' Committee. Subscription is essential to all academics interested in this subject. You may subscribe directly from this site. There is also an Archive of prior messages.
