AustraLearn: North American Center for Australian Universities, the largest non-profit Australian educational specialist, provides one of the easiest and most cost effective ways for students to undertake study programs in Australia. The Center has been in Colorado at the Colorado State University campus since 1990 and just last year sent more than 400 students to Australia. Academic Subject Areas

For study abroad and full degree programs, students can choose subjects directly from the Australian university handbook. Try Aboriginal Culture, or Australian History in addition to your major subjects for the most unique experience.

Shorter term study and travel programs are offered in several major academic areas such as: Tropical Marine Science, Australian History and Environmental Science, Rural Field Studies, Political Science, Education, Engineering, Aboriginal Culture and Veterinary Medicine.

Internships are available in almost any area, at most times of the year.

Eligibility and Applications:

Students are selected based upon GPA and other necessary application materials. Applications are due by April 15 and November 15 for the semester preceeding your desired enrollment. Bond University has earlier application deadlines.

Student Services

For Study Abroad and Travel/Study program students, only one application form is needed regardless of the number of universities and/or programs to which you wish to apply. Academic counselling is available through a 1-800 number (toll free) where staff will give you guidance on selecting universities and subjects. This allows access to all necessary information including university handbooks, subject descriptions, housing applications etc. without having to wait for materials from Australia. AustraLearn will liaise with your home university on matters of credit transfer, financial aid and subject selection and on-campus housing is guaranteed at most universities. Pre-trip Orientation

For AustraLearn participants, regardless of university destination, we provide a unique three day orientation in Cairns, Queensland. Students receive face-to-face orientation regarding cross-cultural differences in Australia, academic systems, and how to make the most of one semester or full year abroad. The group also visits the Great Barrier Reef for a full day and the Rainforest for a full day with a seminar in Eco-tourism. It is fun, fascinating and past participants have felt it made their time in Australia just that much better!
