The Sir Robert Menzies Centre for Australian Studies (SRMCAS) administers the Australian Bicentennial Scholarship and Fellowship Scheme (UK and Australia), the Visual Arts Fellowship, the Northcote Graduate Scholarship and the Menzies Centre History Studentships. These are all advertised annually and awards are made on a competitive basis. There is no subject restriction, unless otherwise stated, to any of these awards.
Scholarships are open to students registered at a British tertiary institution or eligible for such registration at an Australian tertiary institution. Fellowships are open to candidates who wish to further their education or professional experience but do not want to take a further degree. Younger scholars are preferred but there is no formal age limit, although candidates must be likely to make a contribution to their fields for a least ten years. Awards are to a maximum of �4,000. The closing date is usually at the beginning of June. Application forms are available from April each year.

This scheme is to enable students to undertake a postgraduate degree at an Australian university for a period of up to three years. The award comprises a return airfare, payment of compulsory fees, and an allowance of A$17,427. Applicants should be under the age of 30. The closing date is usually the end of August. Application forms are available from May each year.
There is an Australian arm to this scheme which allows Australians to visit the UK. Application forms are available from SRMCAS from August each year and the closing date is usually the end of October.
Two awards are open to undergraduates enrolled in History in Australian BA degrees to undertake a year of their degree at King's College or Queen Mary and Westfield College, both in the University of London. These awards waive all fees but awardees must make their own way to London and finance themselves while here. These are advertised through all Australian university History Departments each Easter for the British academic year beginning the following September.
