A traditional Newsletter is sent out maybe a couple of times a year. It is expensive to prepare and expensive to post. New or changed information normally waits until the next issue of the Newsletter.
At ASANA we have a better way - this "living" Newsletter. Members receive the Newsletter instantly. Additions and changes are made whenever required and appear within one day. Outdated items from the Newsletter are removed and archived in the file of past information.
All members have the ability to post announcements or other information in the Newsletter immediately by simply emailing to the secretariat at [email protected]. And the secretariat can get information out to all members at once. Members may want to "bookmark" this page and refer to it regularly. Note that the most recent items will appear at the top of the list.

Members are invited to check out the complete information and online registration form now available for the European Australian Studies Association conference - 14-18 September 1997 in Klagenfurt, Austria.
The Australian Embassy in Washington announces the 1997-1998 "North American Speaker Series". Under this program several Australian academics will visit North America to give a series of lecturers. ASANA members are encouraged to nominate an academic or to host the visitors. It is expected that each academic will give four or five lectures at "host" institutions during their stay in North America. All expenses other than local "ground cost" are covered by the embassy. Harvard University's Committee on Australian Studies will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Australian Chair at Harvard with a symposium on May 9 and 10, 1997, at the Harvard University Gutman Conference Center, Appian Way, Cambridge, MA 02138.
