This course will examine the Australian political system including the three-tiered system of government, the parliamentary system, electoral processes, and political policy formation, presentation and implementation. The roles of women, labor unions and other social, commercial and ethnic lobby groups in Australian politics will be addressed. Field visits to sessions of Federal and State parliaments and local government councils will be included in the program.
