Description:
This program offers students a unique opportunity to study while refining their rugby skills. Students undertake two classes at the University of New South Wales as well as intenstive rugby training with distinquished Australian and New Zealand coaches. The program concludes with the International College Rugby Challenge (a five day tournament). Students must complete courses in "Australian Literature" where each weeks brings a different theme of traditional Australian writing, and "The Culture of Sport", where students examine the origins of sport, the success of women and other gender issues, the role of class and politics in sport. Students will be assessed on two papers, book reviews, presentations, and final exams. All instruction will be by University of New South Wales professors. There will also be opportunities to participate in a variety of outdoor adventure activities as wells as cultural events.
