$3,600 includes tuition, accommodation (residence halls while in Melbourne, hostels during field trips), airport pick-up, meals and travel allowance, study materials, transportation and airfare while in Australia, excursions and 10 day field trip in Queensland. Does not include international airfare.
The program aims to improve: the perception of the unique Australian landscape and natural environment; the knowledge of the historical processes impacting on contemporary Australian culture; critical thinking about the ways in which Australian national identity and cultural stereotyping is created; and the appreciation of Australian film, literature, drama and the arts. Topics will include: Australia Today; Defining the Image of Australia; Australia's Environmental Movement; Tourism and the Great Outdoors; Living the Australian Way of Life; Crocodile Dundee and Australian Stereotypes (the Aboriginal People); and Down Under, Australia's Relationship with the World.
